For the Nature Lover you won’t find a better place to live. We have the beautiful Rainbow River and the majestic Withlacoochee River in our backyard. These two rivers offer tons of fun for the outdoor enthusiast. Canoeing, kayaking, tubing, swimming, wildlife viewing, fishing, diving and snorkeling are some things you would want to do on the crystal clear Rainbow River. The Withlacoochee River is more of fishing and eco or nature tour river. It is not clear like the Rainbow but it sure is Old Florida pretty. You just have to see these two rivers that form Lake Rousseau and flow into the Gulf of Mexico. Lake Rousseau is a 3,657 acre manmade lake. This lake is primarily for fishing. Water skiing is not recommended due to the abundance of tree stumps. However bass, crappies (specs), catfish and stump knockers love the cover. The Gulf of Mexico is minutes away for the inshore or off shore fisherman. For hiker, biker, walker or skater you will need to try the Dunnellon Trail. This is a paved path suitable for biking, walking, and inline skating, and is part of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. You can access the trail at Blue Run Park on SR 484 or CR 39 in Citrus County. Both trailheads have signs that say “Dunnellon Trail.” Call us for information on our Dunnellon Rentals.
